WIC: Women, Infants, Children

Federal nutrition program (run by Utah health departments) that helps low- to moderate-income families get healthy food and support during pregnancy and early childhood. Families qualify if anyone is pregnant, nursing, or children under 5 in the home.  Helps with nutrition education, check ups and provides milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, whole grains (bread, tortillas, oatmeal, rice), fruits & vegetables, peanut butter or beans, baby food & infant formula
    **Automatically qualify if you are on MEDICAID, SNAP, or TANF
            **Income that is too high for SNAP often can qualify for WIC

Food Stamps: SNAP

Federal program providing a debit card to purchase groceries. Famlies with children under 6 and low income qualify easier.  Individual adults able to work are required to work 80 hours/ month to qualify.
